I’m G.W. North and I love to cook great food. I also love to share what I know with everyone else. I have spent the last 34 years learning everything I could about cooking. As my professional work was in electronics engineering, I’ve had no professional training in the culinary arts. Rather, I learned from great cookbooks such as “The Joy Of Cooking”, and similar tomes of cooking knowledge, and by using a combination of trial and error, and scientific process to hone my skills. In the process, I’ve learned both the science, and art of cooking. And that is what I want to teach through this blog.
I spent a large portion of my life re-inventing the wheel, so to speak. You don’t have to. If you love to cook, and don’t want to have to learn cooking skills the hard way, as I did, and don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars in cooking schools, then this is the place for you. I start with simple cooking concepts, explaining each step of every process, and how and why the steps work.
Enjoy these lessons. For me, they are a labor of love. For you, they will become your cooking bible.
The lessons are free of charge. All I ask for is a comment or two, letting me know what you think of the lessons, so that I can continually improve my work. This blog is written for you. Help me make it truly great.
